After and before

I love this picture.

This is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock Multi. To the left, the finished sock. To the right, the yarn in hank form.

I love that I was able to buy this yarn like this to get this shot.

When I bought the hanks, I was immediately drawn to the color (isn’t that how we all buy yarn?), but once I bought it, I wasn’t so sure how it would knit up.

I finally threw caution into the wind, decided on a slight variation of A Nice Ribbed Sock (Ravelry Link). And by “slight variation” I just did it toe-up with a short row heel.

I’m a fan of the pattern, and I’m especially a fan of this colorway. It’s a shame that it’s a mill end and a one-of-a-kind!

Have you compared it to Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off? I’d be curious to know how they stack up with each other.

I have not. I’ve looked it up and I find it intriguing. I’ll have to give it a whirl. If it’s better than the bind off I’m using, I will be switching.
